Driving Instructor Theory Test


Just like the Learner Driving Test, the vocational qualification of Approved Driving Instructor (Car) has a theory part.  It differs in a number of ways from the L test in that there are100 multiple choice questions, the Hazard Perception section has a much higher pass rate and the subject matter you will be tested on is more related to Driving Instructors

  • road procedure

  • traffic signs and signals, car control, pedestrians and mechanical knowledge

  • driving test, disabilities and the law

  • publications and instructional techniques

In order to be successful in this test you must answer 85 out of 100 questions correctly, and score at least 20 out of 25 in each category.  To pass the hazard perception part you need to score 57 points out of 75.
